I have penned (well, typed) another piece for Critical Reaction. In it I reference a brilliant play that you really should try to catch:

"If you are uncomfortable about the meeting of culture and politics then I have the perfect prescription. Stuart Barrow – who has worked for Michael Portillo, Michael Howard, Francis Maude and indeed Jeremy Hunt – is a renaissance man. Not only has he been an enthusiastic rugby player, he is also a playwright. Candidates for Change: the Road to Con-Dem Nation is on now at the Gallery on Redchurch Street.

The play is riotously funny, moves along at a cracking pace, has an unpredictable narrative arc, and is greatly enhanced by superbly developed characters and fine acting. I am tempted to see it a second time, but I don’t want to deprive others. This is not hyperbole on behalf of a friend; it was a jolly good show in a very agreeable setting."

Ayn Rand

This is the best article about Ayn Rand that I have ever read. It crystallises something that I had been groping towards whenever I thought about her: that her true genius was as a novelist, rather than as a philosopher or human being.

It liberates me to largely ignore her ponderous philiosophical writings and return to her amazing fiction.

I Hate Lefties ...

... and I have said as much, at some length, on Critical Reaction.

One Word

And while we're at it, why did they have to muck around with the club logo a few years ago? The bull, designed by Desmond Morris (yes that one, the famed anthropologist), is a monumentally brilliant piece of minimalist design. The stuff around it merely detracts.
Start again from scratch, lads. It's one thing for Nike to use sweatshops; bastardising the shirt of by far the greatest team the world has ever seen is quite another.

Here Comes Another One

Critical Reaction have taken yet another of my pieces! This one is about the Church of England.
